    Genital Warts
    Hi all:

I have HPV genital warts, and now my boyfriend is pretty sure he has it too, suddenly he has bumps on his penis.

Can it spread to other parts of your body if you touch your genitals and then touch another part of your body?
Like your arm or face or something?

Also, is there really any point to getting the warts removed? Will they disappear on their own eventually? I already had mine removed with the acid treatment at the doctor, but should my boyfriend get his removed?

You should make sure that you do not touch the warts and touch other parts of your body. While it is unlikely that they will spread, it is a possibility.

If you and your boyfriend are uncomfortable with his warts then he should get them removed. They will eventually go away on their own once he does not have a compromised immune system. Also remember that they could get a lot worse before they get better.

    Good Luck!

Genital warts are HIGHLY contagious and should always be removed.

The virus that causes them has been implicated in increased cases of cervical cancer.

I would suggest you don't have unprotected sex, or that your BF gets them removed.

I've recently noticed one small bump "down there". I've searched the web for an answer to what it might be but I need more specific advice before I see a doctor.
