Congrats to the Canadian hockey team.
I really did not watch much of the olympics and I am not a big hockey fan, but even though I'm an American, I am glad that the Canadians are happy with the result. :)

Thank you sir. Indeed we are proud of them. Couldn't have asked for a better final, the Americans played their hearts out; the result could have gone either way.

Yes, if it hadn't been for Sidney Crosby scoring that last goal... well... rest is history and he is our HERO.

I watched as much of the games as I could, the Cros scoring the winning goal was truly amazing, this generations' Paul Henderson moment. Other great moments were Joannie Rochette's bronze medal skate after losing her mother and Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir's flawless gold medal ice dance, there was something magical about the way they looked into each other's eyes at the end and the crowd went nuts. Also great were Jenn Heil winning the first medal of the games and Alex Bilodeau winning our first gold in Canada.

In the Toronto Star today there were a not of comments about our enthusiasm of all the gold, some people on the other side of the border thought our enthusiasm was to far over the top, but how could it not have been. We are just so overwhelmed and happy that hard work paid off.

I might be from the US but I wanted Canada to win as many Golds as they could. Sure I was happy when the US won but for an Olympic athlete to win a medal on their own soil is awesome. And since hockey IS a religion in Canada I thought nothing would be better for them to win the gold. Screw what the idiots down here think. Canada earned that celebration!! I think this was the my favorite story from the Games!!

Haven't been a big hockey fan since the Islander's early 1980's run of Stanley Cups.

But I did take the time to watch the game Sunday.

It was a great game ,but to me did not have the same excitement as the 1980 US team of amateurs winning the Gold. Yes the US team was young and underdogs; but it was still a contest of NHL professionals .

Actually I've lost a lot of enthusiasm for the games when professionals were permitted to compete.

Nonetheless ;conrgrats to the Canadians . If I was Canadian it probably would've been party night Sunday.

See where Russian President Dmitry Medvedev revived Soviet-era methods this week by firing top national Olympic officials and demanding assurances that Russia greatly improve their performance for the 2014 Winter Olympics to be held in Sochi?

    Ahh the good old days!

Hi tomder, yes, partying went on and on and on in Downtown Toronto until the wee hours and beyond, so I guess a lot of people missed work on Monday, but it was probably allowed by some employers !
