L1 Visa Holder - First Time Filing
I am a L1-B visa holder. I came to US on Sep 15 2009 and would be leaving in April 2010.

I have received the W2 form from my employer for the year 2009.

I have the following questions with regard to filing returns:

    1. Which Form do I need to fill 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ
    2. Do I need to fill form 2106? Accommodation and Car is provided to me by the company. I do not have any other receipts. Can I claim standard meal allowance?

    1. 1040NR.
    2. Yes if you are claiming Travel expenses that include transportation, lodging and meals. Use Form 2106 or 2106-EZ to figure your allowable expenses that you claim on line 9 of Schedule A (Form 1040NR).
Since accommodation and car is provided by employer, you can not deduct these expenses.
