    How to find out about my grandfather adoption
    My grandfather was adopted but now he is dead and I am trying to find his biological family I don't know if it was a closed adoption or not I'm trying to find out how to go about it I'm on a fixed income so I can't afford to pay out a lot of money so what can I do?

    You're going to have a VERY hard time with this.

    I'm absolutely POSITIVE his adoption was closed. Assuming you have no medical reason to open those records, it's a fair chance that you will not ever get them opened.

    You can try contacting the adoption agency/social worker/lawyer used, or contacting the hospital where he was born, but finding adoption records from 3 generations ago is going to either take a LOT of your time doing research, or it's going to cost you money to do.

    What information do you already have? What information can you get from family members?
