Can any particle escape from the event horizon of the black hole?

Basically, no. At the event horizon, the pull produced by the black hole is so great that everything past it is pulled in. At the event horizon itself, a light particle could theoretically be stuck forever because the gravitational pull is strong enough to stop the light particle, but not to pull it back. There are also particles (theorized) called tachyons which are thought to travel faster than the speed of light, and unlike other particles, cannot go slower than the speed of light. This of course has not been proved, but I guess in this case, the event horizon could be escaped.

Actually, it is possible for particles to esacape, through something akin to quantum tunneling. In quantum mechanics a partcle's position is described by a "probabilty function" that denotes the probabilities of where it could be. These probability functions are have a physical dimension - the smaller the particles the wider the ange of possibilities if where it could be - such that it's possible that a particle could instantaneously appear outside the event horizon and escape the black hole even though it was prevoiusly inside. The proabability of this happening for even the smallest of atomic particles is quite small, but it can happen. Through this process it could be that a black holes would actually "evaporate" over time - an idea that Stephen Hawking made famous.
