    Can I get the wireless access point to work if I only have an internet connection?
    Hi,

    I have a satellite internet connection and I wanted to go wireless so that I could use the internet throughout the house. I went to the store to buy a wireless router but the person sold me a wireless access point and told me it will work and is just the same as a wireless router. I went home followed the instructions and it does not work. I do not have a network at home all I have is an internet connection through satellite. My question is can I get the wireless access point to work if I only have an internet connection or should I take it back and get I wireless router. My operating system is Windows Vista Basic.

    It won't work because it is an access point that must connect to a router. It's like ou plugged an antenna into a remote and expect the TV to work.
