This show was on the air in either the late 90's or early 00's. It was a primetime show, not a morning cartoon. I remember the main character managed to get a glove that gave him powers. I think he was about high school age. The glove might have been an alien technology, but I don't totally remember. I don't remember too much more than that, and I can't find anybody who knows what I'm talking about due to my lack of specifics. HELP!

Also, if there's a site that has a list of all shows that were on the air (and hopefully some way to filter the list down) that would be awesome too.

A very human-like alien representative/dignitary sets out for Earth on a mission of peace, but there's a covert movement among the emissary's own people that would much rather seize control of Earth.
After a failed assassination attempt by the hostile faction, the alien's forced to go into hiding on Earth. He starts a new life as an Earthling and eventually marries and has a son.

Years later his alien-human hybrid son, now a young man, learns of his secret alien heritage after the conspirators track him down.

This sounds VERY promising. Thank you. I've been searching for this for a long time, but never remembered enough information to conduct a good search. I'm really excited to go out and watch this again! Hopefully it's as good as I remember.
