    I need to know if I sent W-2s & 1099 R with 1040X?
My husband has already filed his return and received his refund. I have not filed yet. However, we wanted to file married filing jointly. So we are completing a 1040X. I need to know if I should send my W-2's and 1099 R and any other forms that I would have put with my return had I filed regularly? Please help.

No, you attach only the forms that were not attached to your original tax return.

Your husband has already files as Married Filing Separately, you have not yet filed, and now the two of you want to file as Married Filing Jointly? Since the 1040X is only used to modify files already returned, and since your husband can not simply sign onto a jpoint return (because you are allowed to file only one original return), I believe that what you need to do is this:

    1. File your own 1040 persnal return as Married filing separately. This is your own original return, and you attach your W2 form to the 1040, then
    2. File 1040X to change both you and your husband's separate returns to Married filing jointly.

Dear Experts, I filed MFS to get RRC (my spouse's ITIN disqualified last year). My tax software said I am qualified for $600 if I file MFS, so "STEP 1" seems to work. But, my tax software put $600 on line 15 column A and -$600 on column B in Form 1040X, which means I eventually do not get any...
