How do you go about taking a parent's rights away
The father of my child has not seen his son in quite some time. He is on felony probation (task) I believe, he was in jail for drug possession in July and got released in November. Before he went to jail he did not want to see him and could not take time to see him. What can I do? I want to take his rights away! My son is almost 3 and he has not seen him in alomost 2 years.

    1. you PROVE he is a danger to his child.
    2. You get married, stay married a year, have a husband that wants to adopt, get a lawyer, get the biological father to voluntarily relinquish, and go through the adoption process.

No court will terminate a parent's rights unless it is done voluntarily or the parent is a danger to the child.

If while he was in jail and he was in jail for a "long time" some states may allow you to ask for his rights to be taken away.

If he is a risk, you can ask for no visits and/or supervised visits.

If he is not visiting the child, then he is not using any rights he may have anyway??
