    Bisection Method History
I'm after some help with the bisection method. I need to right a report about it and I want to start the introduction with some history about its inventor, or someone who helped push it forward.

I've searched for weeks and not found anything, has anyone got any advice they can offer of wher ei can look or happen to know any history?

Any other ways you can think of introducing my report would be fantastic as well.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

I couldn't find it either, but I found a reference on wikipedia to Richard L. Burden, J. Douglas Faires (2000), "Numerical Analysis, (7th Ed)", Brooks/Cole. ISBN 0-534-38216-9.

Have you read this book? Maybe it will be more enlightening as to the history of the method - books are sometimes more reavealing of the histry.

Sorry I couldn't help you further.
