    Can I break my rental lease if I buy a new home in Florida
    I live in Florida. I am in the final steps to buy my first new home. But my problem is I live in a rented house my lease is over in September and my new house is ready in may, I go to give my 60 days notice to the management company. But I want to know what are my opotions, my lease do not say anything about break the lease, can I breaked? Or what I can do. I can not pay the new house plus the rent house, somebody told me in Florida we have a law that say if you live rented and you buy a new home you can break the lease, but I can not find anything. Please helpe with this. THANKS

    Nope, buying a new house doesn't allow you to break the lease. Only thing that would is if the landlord breached the terms of the lease. What's more is Florida is one of the worst states to try and break a lease. They can just sit on the property until sept and you would be responsible for the rent.

    So you have three options:

    1) Negotiate a buyout. Generally you offer two months rent. Tat would be beyond the 60 days notice.
    2) Sublet. If you leae permits sublet to someone else until Sept
    3) Find a new tenant. You foot the bill for advertising and finding seomeone to take over your lease.
