Received W2 and 1099-misc from same employer
I worked full time for an empoyer until May this year. I received a W2 for my earnings. I also had HSA contributions that totaled $900 for this period, and was reported in box 12a. I also received a 1099-MISC with $900 in box 7. My employer did not contribute to my HSA. Then, I received a 1099-SA from the bank that controlled the funds. So, why did I receive the 1099-MISC from my employer? I thought my HSA contributions were pre-tax, now I received the 1099 MISC and will have to pay taxes on this amount? PLEASE HELP!!

I suspect the bookkeeper for your employer does not understand how Health Savings Account work and the Form 1099-MISC is a mistake. Hopefully you got this problem resolved.
