    Fridgidaire Furnace Noise
I just had a new frigidaire gas furnace installed in home. I have never heard a furnace this loud when the blower comes on. Is this normal? My last furnace was over 20 years old and did not make this much noise.

Was it that loud when the installed installed it? If so, did you ask him about this then?

If you think the furnace is faulty, then you should call out for warranty work. But explain the situation over the phone, chances are the service company can tell you if its normal or not.

In other advice, you may be better posting this question in the heating and AC board.

If you furnace is the same BTU as your old furnace but the cabinet size is smaller then that is a good reason for the extra noise, trying to push the same amount of air through a much smaller furnace. It might be possible to insulate the closet where your furnace it with a rigid insulation and stop some of the noise. Also insulate the inside of the furnace blower compartment.

Mystery Furnace Noise? [ 1 Answers ]

Have had 2 people out to fix this no luck yet. Furnace is a 12 year old Carrier Model: 58MCA120 Multipoise gas-fired condensing furnace (I admit I'm a woman who is just reading this from the brochure). The noise sounds mechanical (somewhat squealy/grindey) and starts up maybe 15-30 seconds...
