    I inherent 140,000.00dlls, from wife, she died! Do I pay state/federal taxes to California?

    Hello saul. I'm sorry for your loss. You have no estate nor ineritance tax issues to worry about. Neither the US nor the state of California tax estates when a spouse dies and leaves the estate for the other spouse.
