    T do I do?
I need the deed to my home which I paid off in 2002 when financing another piece of property. The mortgage had been sold a lot of times and I can't seem to find the name of the final holder. How do I get a deed?

You should be able to get a copy of the deed from the county clerk or county register's office.

I assume you are in the States. Your county or (bigger) city government should have a copy. In some places (maybe all places?) the holding office is called the Registrar of Deeds.

At worst ,you can call local government and they can point you in the right direction
