Why can't outlook 2003 save settings in windows 7
Every time I try to change the toolbar settings in Outlook 03 in Win 7 64, it never retains the settings. I have an Avery wizard toolbar that shows up, with one icon on a separate line, and I cannot get rid of it. I uncheck to show that toolbar, I move it to the end of the other, and no matter what I do in options, it always comes back the original way. Tried compatibility settings, returned "incompatible program" - hard to believe Microsoft won't patch it to work! (Don't tell me use Office 07, I hate it). This is not the only program that won't save settings I try to change, does anyone have a permissions solution or something that will allow me to save preferences in these programs that otherwise work fine?

Not really sure on this one, I have the same setup as you and have no compatibility settings that needed to be changed and does retain changes made.

The avery wizard addin may be causing the behavior, do you use the avery wizard on a regular basis? Possibly uninstall to see if that may help resolve with setting issue.

Try to disable the addin through tools

The associated add-in probably rebuilds the toolbar whenever Outlook starts.

If you don't use the add-in frequently, you may consider uninstalling it until later. Go to Tools menu > Add-Ins, find it in the list, and uncheck the box in front of it. To reinstall the add-in, return to the add-ins dialog and check the box
If you don't have the latest version of the wizard, try downloading and see if that may resolve issue
