Eviction on a contract for deed in Florida
We were offered to move into a home by a "contract for deed" from a partner of my husbands employer. Now my husband has been terminated from the company, and we can not afford the payments anymore. We live in Florida, with 3 kids, no income, and I want to know what actions can be taken against us to get out of the home and how long it can take.

You will be evicted from the home. From beginning to end (hearing before a Judge) should take less than 3 months or 2 months if the courts are not backed up with cases ahead of yours. I'd start looking for another place to live real soon as you won't be able to stay there any longer. And no, you do not get any of the money back that you paid into the contract for deed. It is all forefeited per the contract.

First the terms of the contract, normally you first have to come in default of the contract, so what are the terms for non payment, 15 days, 30 days, maybe 60 days, after the term amount that you are in default, normally it changes to a rental, and at that point if you are late, they can start eviction proceedings.

So you need to read the contract as to the terms
