Maybe you should ask your doctor? No one here can give you permission.

Not asking for permission, just wondering if anal fissure would be a qualifing reason to use FMLA. I walk and sit at my job a lot and it is bothersome when you have fissure.

I understand. I'm not sure but I believe qualifying is a complex issue, you can find more info here: FmlaOnline.com - The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
And, like I said, I think this is something you would have to talk to your doctor about. Good luck.

There are other factors that must be considered, like length of employment and number of hours worked in the previous year, maybe other factors too. Can you ask your employer (as well as your doctor) about it?

To get the time off under the act, you have to be ill or hurt to the point you can not do your job and your doctor will have to sign for you not to work. So if your doctor thinks you are hurting to the point of not being able to work, get him to sign you an excuse and then ask your company for the time off.
Remember to check to be sure you meet the requirements, size of company, time on the job and the such first
