My upstairs shower is leaking into my living room.
I was watching TV one day and realized that there were two big paint bubbles coming from
The ceiling. I popped the bubbles and saw that the ceiling was wet and started tearing
Down the soaked areas. I found that it was right under my upstairs shower. I stopped
Using the shower, in fact the shower hasn't been used for months yet I still get a constant
Drip coming from around the drain. I figured it was from the shower fixtures so I cut an
Access panel to check them out. They were dry. Now I'm stumped and thinking it's the shower pan. Background on house.

Shower is a stand alone shower all tile (floor and walls).
Roto rooter came and grouted around the drain and a couple of areas where they thought water may be getting through. Nothing changed. So now I have a shower that's not being used, still leaking, and a hole in my ceiling. Thoughts?

Replace your shower pan. There is water that is sitting in the pan liner. Probably about 2" inches deep. You got some good use out of it if it was built in 1942 & still functioning. Depending on where you live you can have a tile person out for around $1000 to repair although it may be worth it to replace all tile & start over.
