Coyotes and dogs.
This is a very unusual thing (At least I think it is!)
I went outside about 4 days ago to let my Chocolate lab inside, and was stunned to find out that she was playing with a coyote!(I live on the outside of a city), and then again 2 days she was playing with it again! I called animal control but they said they couldn't come for a couple days and when I asked what to do they said to leave it because "The animal may become aggressive when faced with a human".
I just don't know what to do, My dog loves to be outside so she is out there for a couple hours a day. If she is not she gets very destructive, and barks at the door constantly.
I was wondering if ANYONE had any suggestions.
(I'm thinking animal control is not going to be able to do too much because there is a lot of coyotes in the area and I do not want them destroyed!)

Perhaps it's a very young coyote and still in the 'playful' stage rather than the 'going to eat you' stage.
I would leave your dog inside unless it can be supervised until Animal Control can get there.
An alternative that you probably aren't going to like is new fencing to keep them out.

It shouldn't.
I would be very wary of this and NOT let your dog out to play with it again. They are pack animals usually and I would hate to see your dog get killed like so many do.

This I couldn't tell you.
I've never seen a Coyote (I'm in Australia) I only know what I have read about them.
Usually Coyotes are scared of people and run off, but not always.
Check back here regularly and hopefully someone who has had dealings with Coyotes can help you out a bit more than I can :)

That sounds sweet! Unfortunately, the coyote will probably eventually be caught by animal control. I hope they will move him to a wilderness area and not euthanize him.
Coyotes and dogs are cousins. Shreve Stockton moved to Wyoming, raised an orphaned coyote pup and now has a "farmily" made up of Charlie the Coyote, Cleo the Dog, Eli the Cat, Ranger the Horse, Daisy the Cow, Daisy's young bull calf Frisco, and a young bull that Shreve is training to be an ox.

Yes I do agree it is cute, but I'm just a little worried, No other coyote other than this one has come this close to my house, I left food out for stray cats and they never came near! This one just seems to be a weird one.

My main concern would be rabies, but it may be a young dog who just doesn't know better.

Well, all I can say is be wary. We had a string of animals attacked/killed by coyotes, and it usually started with them being lured by one.

Wow that's crazy! I would guess that it is young too.
Recently in my province there was a woman who was killed by two coyotes/ Not just mauled but actually parts of here were eaten!
Can you put your dog out in the front yard?
