    Kleptomania in children, is rare, but it does happen. It is normally associated with a mental disorder, not a criminal bend. I have never read of a cause for this, however, there could be other behaviours the child is presenting that may lead to some sort of anxiety problem.

    If there is a repeated pattern going on with this child of stealing or hoarding, there are some good websites to offer some insight as to why, and what kind of help is available.
