Its not abnormal. For some reason I believe that girl's bodies are maturing earlier.

Some do, others don't, all teens mature at different rates

Our nutrition is so much better now, and depending on the genes and biological makeup you've inherited from the women in your family, it's not unusual. Ask your mom and aunts this question.

What's normal for one is not normal for another. Your body is unique. So yes, for you it's normal.
I started developing at around your age. I have friends that developed much sooner, because of their genetic makeup.
Don't worry about this and talk to your mom. She's a woman too. :)

Scott, I feel the same way. I know that when I was 12 ( mid seventies), girls my age were not as well "equipped" as they are today.
It must be something in the food like Wondergirl mentioned.
I'm glad that I had only boys.
God bless the parents of the world. That's a job that keeps getting more and more challenging.

Scientists today are especially looking at the hormones fed to cattle and poultry in order to make them more meaty. The scientists say as we eat those hormones secondhand, we get plumper and mature more quickly as a result. Some (or many?) obese children and teens get that way because of those secondhand hormones messing with their bodies.

I've read articles on that as well Wondergirl. Some scientists did a study on milk products and found a large amount of hormones attributed to their diet. They claimed that these hormones were causing children to mature long before their time.
Another study stated that because of early development, women are having too many menstrual cycles in their lifetime, causing wear and tear on the body.
In the olden days women matured at an average age of 14, had a handful, if not more, of kids, and then went into menopause in their late 40's or 50's. With breastfeeding and pregnancy, they had far less cycles then women today.
I'm very interested in all of this. I had a friend that started menstruating at the age of 7. I can't imagine it! That's way too young to have to deal with that. The strain on her body led to many things, like calcium deficiency and the like.

Wondergirl agrees : Science helps us -- and hurts us. (Speaking of periods.. . What happened to all your comma splices? I miss all those commas that should be periods!)
You made me self conscience about them. ;)
I really do and can write better then this. When I post here, and on other sites, I write quickly and don't pay attention to sentence structure etc.
I'll try harder to continue with my errors. Just for you. :)

I started needing a bra when I was about 8-9, by 12 I had been out of training bras for quite some time. You have nothing to worry about having boobs at your age, it's perfectly healthy.

I'm glad this was not just an impression of mine. I just don't remember noticing girl's bodies until HS.

I suppose it is some places. Here it's middle school. But I was smitten with girls at 8. But I had no reason why. At 14 it became clear.
