    Windows Me "Help and Support"
I can't get the Help and Support working in my Windows Me. Page opens but when I click on sub topic e.g Index under Fix a problem or More resources, a blank page opens. Can you please help to get this fix.

Try a reinstall of Win Me. Maybe all the help pages weren't installed or got corrupted.

Reinstalling won't lose anything. Reformatting would. Just run SETUP from your Windows CD.

    Windows ME
    Hi,
Here is a link for some very good information and instructions, using ME:

    http://www.burzurq.com/forum/trevtweak.html

It is mainly a "tweak" site, with good suggestions.

Your Help files may or may not be corrupt, but is a good possibility.

I would have first tried the SafeMode, booting to the C: Prompt,
then selected an earlier Registry saved, to see if that would solve the problem. It's called Registry Restore, to an earlier date. The Help values and parts may just be corrupted somewhat in the Registry.

    Best wishes,
    fredg

    Don't Understand
I still think the best advice anyone in these forums can give someone using Windows ME is to tell them to get rid of it.

When Microsoft the makers of the OS won't even support it anymore and they saw it's the worst OS they have ever made, then you should realize its bad, why encourage anyone, especially a novice to try to fix their WinME problems, by fixing 1 problem in ME, usually breed 1 or more other problems, and if not, then more will appear down the road, all Operating systems have problems, but why use the worst one of them all.

Why waste the time helping them and why encourage or give them hope that the problems will disappear.

Just advise them to get rid of WinMe ASAP, scrape, save borrow, do whatever it takes, but get another OS.

Win98SE can be purchased cheaply, so can WinXP in the right places, like Amazon.com or Ebay, or at discount stores or online somewhere, or if you know a college student, they can usually purchase WInXp at their College store for under $10.

Lets get together on this one and only offer this advice to WinME owners, and anyone that says they can't afford it, are full of it.

Follow my advice above and if they are here, they usually are paying for an internet connection and have a running computer that usually costs money, so save or something, and get another OS.

    ;)

Well Wendy, I agree with you about ME being the worst version of Windows ever. I also agree that it's a good idea to advise people to get rid of it.

But that's not always an option for some people. Going backwards to Win 98 involves reformatting your drive, a daunting task for some people. I think we better serve our "customers" by giving our recommendations but still trying to help with the problem.

BTW, where did you get that MS dropped support for Win ME? As far as I know its still supported. Patches are still being issued, etc.

    Win ME
    Hi,
I agree with helping with ME. Some cannot afford to change their operating system.
Some are on fixed incomes, and do the best they can.
I do agree that ME is the absolute pits, but then again, sometimes we must go with what we have.
    Best wishes to all,
    fredg
