Are hormonal changes normal after losing virginity at 21?
I am 21 years old and I lost my virginity to my boyfriend of 5 months a little less than a month ago. Since then, I have had sex a couple of times. Sex with a condom, and the pull out method. He never came inside me using that method. Since then I have noticed that my boobs seem to be growing, I am feeling a little larger overal and more gassy. I have tried doing some research and found that sometimes losing your virginity will cause hormonal changes. I was wondering if these changes are normal, or if I should be concerned? I am trying to not be too worried before I am supposed to get my period, because I don't want to mess it up with stress, but I can't help it... Please Help!

To me and I may be told that I'm wrong but... you need to get a pregnancy test. It is recommended that you wait until after you have missed a period but I would book one with the doctor now.

I know that you are worried and I don't want to add to that but at 21 I would really think that you would know that no method of contraception is 100%...except abstinence!

If you are not ready for a child you should be trying to prevent a pregnancy by using if not a condom, the pill.

Moreover, I must say that the only way to protect against STD's is with a condom. And I know that you think that your relationship is solid now but just look to the relationship and marriage forums to see that there are no certainties with relationships, except that they aint easy.

    Best of Luck.

Pregnancy test immediately! The pull out method is notorious for failure.
I won't give you the lecture about contraception, but you do need to be responsible.

As for the hormonal changes - who knows, we're all so different. I remember my Ex grew a heap of hair on his chest (at 36) after we'd been having sex for a while. We figured it was hormonal, but we could have been wrong.

At 21 you're body is still changing. Puberty doesn't stop when you start having a period. It's an ongoing process that generally lasts into your mid-20's. Until then, hormonal changes are not only likely, but probable.

I would still suggest a pregnancy test. If for no other reason than to ease your mind.

You should also start looking into other forms of birth control.

Virginity and loss of it has nothing to do with hormonal changes... AT ALL. Think about it... how does tearing of a small flap of skin make any difference physically?

And I'll second what was already said... withdrawl method isn't birth control at all, treat the penis like a leaky faucet. The little critters are getting out all the time, NOT just at one time.

Its not unusual for you rmetabolism to start slowing down when you are no longer in your teens... so weight gain if you don't adjust food intake to maintain a constant weight will equal a weight gain. Boobs don't stop growing at 18, and in some cases will grow through your 30's.

As you can well see now. You didn't stop maturing the day you turned 18.
