    Rewiring Bathroom
The bathroom used to have a drop-down ceiling with one grounded outlet and a large panel fluorescent light. In replacing the drop-down with actual drywall, I reworked some of the wiring beginning at the point it enters the bathroom.

On a 15-amp circuit I first replaced the grounded outlet with a GFCI outlet where the power comes into the bathroom. The lines then loop through a new switch, ceiling light, and ventilation fan. I installed the fan after the switch and it worked fine. Once I installed the two bulb light fixture the fan stopped working and the 60W bulbs in the light fixture only came on dimly. I removed the light fixture and the fan worked again.

I tried replacing the 60W bulbs with low wattage fluorescents and the lights worked fine, but the fan still didn't turn on. With the light fixture wired into the loop, but no light bulbs, the fan doesn't turn on either. I tried a different low wattage light fixture to see if it was the fixture, but the fan still didn't run.

I went back and tested the voltage at various points throughout the system and it always came back with 120V. Throughout all of this, only the bathroom was running on this circuit. Any advice on getting this thing working?

So it took a little digging on the fan model, but I found it: Broan 771 which looks to be this guy: Product Detail

The light fixture is the Portfolio (Lowe's Brand?) #112067. I can only find it on the Lowe's website: http://www.lowes.com/pd_112067-61843...ductId=3140503

Hope this helps. Thanks for any advice.
