    Is pensions the same as a retirement fund like a 401k
    I took my retirement out in one lump sum I was age 63 in 2009 do I report this on line 16a of 1040 or online 58 of my 1040?

    Depends on whether you had a defined benefit plan usually referred to as a pension or a defined contribution plan like a 401k. You should get a 1099R from the employer telling you what to claim
