    Can have bathroom later on upper level
    Hi
    I'm buying a new home.They are giving optional 3rd bath on upper level just adjusting 3rd and 4th bedroom closets .I took 9 ft celings on the upper level instead of third bath as I couldn't change the celings later.my question is can I have the bathroom later.I will send the links to the floorplans can anyone please help on this.I couldn't afford 3rd bath right now.if I would like to have in future can I have that 3rd bath.

    It's too bad you didn't have the builder run a stack vent up in that corner and hide it until you were ready to remodel. Unless you you hyave a kitchen located in that corner I can see you coming up from the basement to pick up the group. Let me know about the kitchen location. Regards, Tom

    Since this is a new house can you contact the builder for a set of "as built" plans showing the drainage?
    I see nothing in that corner of the house that you could for a stack vent.
    How much are you prepared to spend for another bath?
    I notice on your drawings that the first and second floor are marked "Danfield" but the basement and optional bath are marked "Lansdale". What's with that?

    Actually we took danfield and upgraded to lansdale that's why I'm sending the floor plans like that.so that there would be no confusion.The builder gave us the quote for optional third bath for 6000$.We can't afford it right now because we did so many things already .After a year or later we would like to have that optional bathroom.I would like to know whether its possible or not--------Thanks


    I also have another question. The home is not yet built. Can I ask the builder for provisioning or rough in for future bathroom.in that way I can reduce the cost now and can have the bathroom later when I have the money-Thanks!

    BINGO!! Ya lucked out!
    You caught th work early enough to make modifications. Ask your contractor for a price on running a stack vent through the roof and simply roughing under the floor and behind the walls for the fixtures. Should be a lot less then six grand. At this time it would be money well spent.
    The room could be used for a bedroom until you decide to complete the bathroom. Regards, Tom

    Thanks for your help! I will contact my builder about this and will get back to you.If you don't mind can you tell where are you living.you seems to be great expert in these.I'm living in dc suburbs I'm just wondering if you are near to me.

    Hi Tom I'm back with you I asked the sales manager what she was saying is that they can't give rough ins.they couldn't get permits from the county to have rough ins.so I don't know what to do now.If they are no rough ins I have to loose hope for 3rd bath on upper level----Thanks

    Say what! This is a contractor that told you that? Well if they couldn't pull permits how's your place going to get built in the first place.
    Sounds like she's blowing smoke up your skirt.
    Seriously! If you place hasn't been built yet they could run a stack vent off the main and rough a bathroom group under the floor and behind the wall under the same permit as the rest of the rough in. It can be done!
    All you need to do is arrive at a price for the extra labor and material.
