Why didn't they Withhold Federal Taxes this year on my W-2's?
When I got my W-2's back this year I realized that they had only taken out $63 dollars in federal tax. Which in turn is going to leave me owing a lot. I don't under stand why all of my other taxes got taken out including state taxes. I am 21 and have never had this happen. I have been working at the same job for 3 years now so my income has really changed over the past three years? Can any one help expain why this year they took out all taxes but federal?

Either you re-submitted a W-4 increasing your allowances, or your payroll department made a clerical error.

Either way, you need to correct it to prevent a repeat of the same problem NEXT year.
