If there is a Judgment against you there is no need to turn a debt over to a collection agency. Pre-Judgment, yes, it can be turned over without informing you and the agency has the authority to collect the debt from you.

Why are you asking the same question again after JudyKTee gave you an answer? Do not repeat the same question just because you did not like what she said. If you have a judgement then a writ of garnishment can be given to your employer if your state allows and they will go after your bank accounts
Also. The time to fight this was before court not after

If they authorise a agency to collect for them, yes you are to pay, if you don't, they may ( if allowed in your state) garnish your wages, attach and freeze your bank accounts and more.

So really there is never a need for collection agency after they have a judgement, they in most areas can just take the money from you

I received a summons to appear on court due to an old debt. I know I did still owe some of it, but quit paying it years ago when I was young/broke and they wouldn't work with me. I have moved from KS to TX to CO, but am convinced the SOL has expired. I went to court, but the lawyer ran out of...

Ok... I'll try to sum this as best I can. A credit card company that I owed an original debt was given to a law firm to collect the debt. The firm claimed it was 3000 or so, and I received letters and then a judgement and so I paid a partial amount on the debt 6 months ago of 980. I didn't...
