My dog won't sleep in her bed
My dog doesn't sleep in her kennel anymore. She's an 11 year old dog which we have had for less then a year. She was kennel trained so we bought her a wire kennel. She use to sleep in it every night, with the door open. The last few weeks she has to be coaxed into it more and more at night. She doesn't want to go in and actually seems afraid of it. Nothing has changed. She has started to curl up next to our bed on the floor. I want her to sleep in her bed. Last night we made her stay in her kennel. We still left the door open but every time she came out we put her back in and told her to stay until eventually she stayed there. She was still in it when we got up this morning but then she came out and starting vomiting, 3 times and diarreah and simply looking not well. Could the kennel have stressed her out? What should we be doing? Help.

It sounds like something is stressing her out.
Is there any reason why she can't sleep beside your bet at night? She's an old girl.

Her kennel is only a couple of feet from the end of my bed. It's to large to put it next to my bed for her. I want her to have a nice comfy bed that's a safe haven for her and now it seems like the opposite. Also I'm afraid that if she is sleeping on the floor next to me that I may get up through the night and step on her.

It sounds like the Kennel is stressing her out, her safe haven to her might be next to you on the floor.
If you REALLY want her to sleep in the kennel, you may have to start the training all over again. Every time she goes in there, reward her lots of praise, lots of treats etc etc. Could you not put her bed in yor room, not in the kennel, and somewhere where you wouldn't accidentally step on her?
If the diarreah lasts more then 24 hours, you should get her checked out by a vet.

Being 11 years old it could be age related as well.
My moms old poodle is a very restless dog, he only sleeps for a few hours at a time before he's up wandering again.
As Sariss and Aurora said it could also be stress. Something may have happened to make her not like the crate anymore(it happens)
And lastly, and not the most pleasant, she wants to be near you because she is sick and knows it. Several of my parents dogs have died right by their sides at night.
Sorry for the grim thought.
