    Whole house electrical surges
I purchased a doublewide that is 320' (one way) from the road. Meter pole is approx 50-80 from road, so 250-270' run total. 200 amp service with 200 amp disconnect outside and 200 amp box inside. I believe a single run of 4/0 (four-aught) aluminium is buried underground in conduit to the disconnect and then to inside box.

Problem: lights flicker occasionally or surge. Have burnt out a powerstrip, dvd player, range hood, 18v battery charger, etc, almost all at the same time. Power has surged sometimes in lighting. Has also gone out completely a few times and pulsed to try to come back on. I turned off main for a while, turn back on and have regular power.? @# An electrician has checked all the lugs and says nothing is loose. He may be cohort of previous owner so I need an independent analysis.

Connections/Voltages would need to be checked back to and including the Meter socket.
