    Carrier furnace cuts out
Has any one found a solution for the Carrier weathermaker furnaces when they fail to cut in when the thermo calls for heat. I have to turn off the power at panel box or kill switch for 5/ 10 seconds then flip back on then the furnace will cut in, apparently some kind of safety sensor, but it does it several times a day and service techs have not found the problem or solution. Any body with any ideas?

This sounds like a soft lockout. The board should give you a code that explains why it did this. But if you remove the power from the board or reset it at the thermostat the code will go away.

Thanks for the suggestion, and I should have known that. The furnace does have a little lite that flashes indicating trouble, but the referance chart for the code interpretion has been ripped off. Do you know where I can get a referacne chart for the codes?

Sorry I don't. I do know some carrier codes but they can change from model to model. If you let me know I can give it a try.

Carrier Furnace [ 4 Answers ]

I am looking at furnace for a friend. The furnace will come on with that small fan and the pilot will light. However, the burner will not catch. This unit has a igniter I suspect that the igniter is bad. Is there any way to test it?
