Hello,
I have installed a new shower pan in the basement and the pan came with a plastic drain kit. The drain is leaking around the seal underneath very slightly. Is there some type of caulk or epoxy that I could apply to the bottom to stop the tiny leak? Though I followed the manufactures instructions, I had a hard time seating the flange as the pvc drain pipe was not exactly perfectly square. The inside ring is seated, yet the outside is not down as far as I would like yet the plastic oring that you tightened is as tight as I can get it. Thanks for your help.

If the trap raiser and the drain don't line up then you're in for trouble. They MUST be square with each other or there will be a leak. Reposition them and try again. Good luck, Tom

Hey Speedball,
It is aligned OK now. The instructions say this is a caulkless drain. I read a previous post and it stated you should use silicon on plastic drains. Is this what you would suggest?

Caukless doesn't mean that you don't have to seal the drain lip. Run a ring of plumbers putty or Silicon Jel under the lip of thye drain before you tighten the retaining nut. Good luck, Tom
