    Programmable thermostat problems
Good morning, just recently installed the White-Rodgers thermostat, 1F80-0471, into my apartment style condo. This thermostat replaces an old mercury thermostat, that was heat only and had two black wires. As per directions, connected these wires to the RH and W connectors of the new thermostat. The problem that I'am experiencing is that the heat is climbing, even though I have tried lowering the temperature and turnig off the thermostat. Any Ideas?

The wires may have shorted together or the furnace control is stuck on in the furnace itself. The thermostat just tells the unit to turn off or on so if it is not a thermostat problem it has to be the other items mentioned above.
