    HL2 Screen Resolution failure
    When I try to play Half-Life 2 (or any other games that require the screen resolution to change), my monitor refuses to change to the appropriate resolution. What am I doing wrong?

    What does the monitor do? Both the video adapter and the monitor need to support the desired display resolution.

Hi. We use a hp pavilion f1703 flat screen monitor on Radeon 9200 series. Every time the computer restarts the screen resolution defaults to 640x480 and Low 8 bit colour.
