    OK by pug baxter I can punish him because every time I do he looks at me with like sad eyes so I can't punish him because he is sooooo cute!:confused:

    Much of the dog training mainstream is moving toward more positive methods, seldom using punishment. Perhaps a sharp ''Ut, ut, ut'', when you catch him in the act to interrupt him with quickly offering him a permitted alternative. Select one of the books in the sticky at the top of the dog forum and learn how to develop proper behavior without punishing the dog. Perhaps the cuteness is a factor in the move to more positive methods.

    I came up first learning more punitive methods, and am struggling to switch to more positive ones. They do work.
