    I need to know how to create a floor drain in the basement to I can install a shower
    This is a solid cement floor, I need to know how to create a drain for a shower I want to build.

    Hi swfoxfire:

    What about a sink and toilet? If you go to the trouble of installing a shower you should probably install a toilet and sink, too.

    You could go the traditional route and chop up the concrete floor and install new piping from the bathroom area to the main drain line.

    Otherwise, you could also install an above the floor pump system such as the saniflo macerator pump system or the zoeller pump system. These systems require that you build up the floor, and if you have enough head room they may be good options for you.
