Is there a difference between a tenant and living with a boyfriend/girlfriend?
Are the rules for eviction different if the person that you were in a relationship with the person that you're living with? We moved in as boyfriend/girlfriend and have broken up and he's trying to force me out by saying that I've failed to pay rent although we had NO rental agreement either verbally or written. Are the rules different in these types of situations?

    Hello cap:

Nope, they're not. If there's a primary signer of the lease, then all other residents are tenants. That doesn't mean that a prior agreement to pay rent or not has been changed.

The rules don't change just because you broke up.

What state is this in and whose name(s) is/are on the lease? If you signed the lease, then your ex cannot force you to move out as he is not your landlord.

As a side issue, you mentioned that he wants you out for not paying rent. Is he making that up in an attempt to get you out, or are you actually not paying anything in rent?

This question was asked and answered and Scottgem was 100% correct. Posting a second time with half the information does not change your legal position. You are a TENANT and can be evicted upon notice for any reason.

Have to spread the love... but now I'm kicking myself for not checking the OP's posting history.
