Defaulted loan, Lost lender, cant get rid of car!!
HELP!! I defaulted on a carloan in 2001. I moved to AZ from FL, worked as a travel agent and lost my job after 9/11. I couldn't pay on the car. I was young and stupis and never settled with the lender. I still have the car that. It hasn't been drivable in 2 years, but I just got it fixed. I want to reregister the car and settle my debt with the lender, but I can not reach them. I don't need the car because I have another vehicle now. I spent $1085 getting it running again and put $200 in tires on it. I now have a car I can register, sell, or even give away. What do I do? It never showed on my credit, so I am really confused. Can anyone help me?

How did you register the car when it was driveable prior to the 2 years ago statement you made? Obviously you would not have put any money into a car that you could not register or drive.

I have had 2 vehicles bought and paid off over the past 9 years. I financed them both. I had registered the vehicle as required by AZ law and kept it insured until about 3 years ago since I wasn't using it anyway and it just sat, rusting out the fuel system and causing other damage from non usage.
