Open roll out, Pressure switch, Control Board Goodman Furnace model GDS80904BNAA
My 2006 downdraft goodman furnace model # GDS80904BNAA won't light. Currently giving error code 6 open rollout sensor, but has not lit since before started giving this error. I have turned power off several times, rollout sensor tests good using voltmeter(26v on both ends of sensor). I had this problem recently, but magfically went away. As this code stopped showing up the pressure switch code started. I would reset the power and the furnace would work for a while(sometimes 2 days and sometimes just 2 minutes). Now suddenly I am back at the open rollout code.
I am wondering if it is likely that the control board is the problem as it seems odd to have multiple things broken. Also, there is a brown area on the control board. I do not know if it has always been there or if it is a sign of something burnt up? If I manage to get the control board pic up... the spot is just to the right of the tip of the blue ink pen. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

There may be more than one rollout protector. All will be near the burners. Maybe one in the middle above the burners and one on each end.

You said that you got 26 volts on each end of the sensor. If you touch the wire on each end and get 26 volts that means that the sensor is open and it should be closed. But if "R" terminal and get 24 vlots and then the same on the other side that means it is closed

There is a limit switch that could be causing this problem so check it also.

Now the bad news, if you have a spot on your board that is probably you problem. If you can take the board off the mounting and turn it so that you can see the back, see if you see water marks or a burned spot. If so it is bad.

Thanks, that helps. I took the board off... it is definetely burned. The question is... do I just put a new one in Or might there be something wrong that would burn the new board? Thanks

Did you see any water marks on the back of the board. If so that was more than likely the cause of the failure.

If you have checked all of the rollout switches and limit switches it should be safe to just install the mew board.

Make sure that you use all of the static precautions by grounding yourself to the furnace by touching the furnace each time that you move away and then come back to work.
