Laptop will not boot keeps restarting
I have a HP Pavilion dv9815nr, when I push the power button the panel lights light-up. The power indicator lights up. The cap and num lock do not light up. The PC will power on for 1-2 seconds then powers down then repets over and over until I pull the plug. I hear the fan run. I have reseated the memory and changed around. I pulled the battery and pushed the power button for up to 60sec with no change. Is it the cpu??

No need to be harsh here. Somebody looks, and then they don't know, they move on.

I have seen similar problems before with the HP DV series. If you dare to dismantle it, you may find that a number of your "antenna" wires could be grounding out on parts of the motherboard. Also, I have found the motherboards to fail quite often in these models. I have had requests to change several.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest that you turn it in and have them take a go at it. These models were poorly designed, good performance, just not put together the smartest way.

Sorry, everywhere I turn people always want money, people just don't help like in the old days and it's frustrating. I do what I can for my fellow man without expectation and rarely get the return and it just gets old sometimes. Thank you for answering. I did break it down and I agree that these systems are pretty poorly assembled. I did not find any wires grounding out but I really didn't think of that so I will give that a try. Would a bad processor cause this same action? I do not get beeps or flashing lights just powers on for 1-2 seconds then off for maybe 5 seconds then on again over and over. Thank you for your help.
