My downstairs half bath light was flickering and now it will not turn on at all.
The light was flickering and it went out so I thought it was the bulb and changed it. The new bulb did not work and the now there is no light when I flip the switch. The outlet is working fine and I have checked the breaker and it is good too - any ideas? The fixture is only about 4/5 years old, if that matters at all. Thank you for any help you could offer!

Could just be a bad switch.
A Jump or tester would verify.

Okay - LOL - I am a "HandyChic" - I have heard it is an easy fix to change out the switch, but where do I get a tester and are they expensive?

An electrician without a tester might turn off power to that circuit/house, remove switch, connect 2 wires that were on switch and turn breaker back on, it the light now works, it IS the switch.
Be safe and don't hurt yourself.
