    Probation Transfer
I was convicted of 2nd degree simple assault (misdemeanor) in Philly, PA. I served two months and am now on probation. I'm desperately trying to relocate to NYC for school. I have already been offered a job and I have an apartment (paid for). If given the chance, I could easily show enrollment in school in NYC as well. I've also signed up to do volunteer work at a community center in Brooklyn, which is not required by my probation, but wanted to do it anyway. Hoping it would show that I'm trying.

I went to my probation officer with the information and was told no. He didn't care to listen to any of it, just told me he wouldn't consider it at this time. End of story. From what I gather, I need my PO to full out the application to start the transfer, but what other routes do I have here? I know that NY must accept the transfer and that's another if, but I'd like to at least have that chance. If my probation officer is not willing to fill out the app; who's next in line that has the authority to do so? Can I go directly to the courts?

Any information would be very helpful.
    Thanks

    Hello r:

Fortunately, with a little bit of knowledge under your belt, you can FORCE the PO to do your bidding... They are SOOO dumb. And, they think you're dumber than they are...

Well, we're going to smarten you up. Personally, I LOVE telling THEM what to do. You will too. Go here and read, and then kick their a$$: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/crimin...on-115783.html

Haha, thank you so much! I've asked everyone I can think of and have yet (until now) been given any info. Like I'm basically SOL if he denies me. Thanks again.

I haven't given him a reason that I know of. I've been polite; no arguments or anything of that nature. Paid my fines/court fees ahead of schedule and I've volunteered myself for community service. I didn't expect him to make a deal of it myself. I figured PA would prefer the transfer over keeping me here and paying the cost.
