What to do When you want to enjoy Hobbies but you live with Parents at age 30?
I like to do computer graphics. 3d movies, etc.

But I have been unable beause I am 30 and I live with my parents, and they just keep nagging me about how I'm wasting my time, and how they want me to take over their jobs and not do my life.

For example, I am going to move out but they don't want to. They basically want to enslave me and want me to continue my father's business etc

Should I just be a slave to them and not do any thing I like?

Your life is your life and only you know how to live it in a way that makes you happy.

Life in general (and happiness) is all about finding the right balance between doing what you want (our selfish side) and doing what makes others happy (ie making compromises to make others happy e.g your parents)

Only you know where this balance lies. If doing what you want(moving out) will make you happier than you are now then I would strongly consider doing this.It sounds like you have a lot of unhealthy resentment towards your parents.

On the other hand, if moving out will upset your parents so much that it would make your life miserable, then you have to consider this aspect too when making your decision.

    What culture are you?

    Move out, it's time, you're 30.

As long as you live under their roof, it's their rules. Want to live by your own rules? Get your own roof.

    Thanks all

I have no clue how to start. I have a temp job now. Which took me about 1 year to get. Should I start looking for another job for night time?

By the way I have a car now.. and they forced me to buy it. I don't even have enough money to pay for it. If I could drop it that would take a load off my shoulders

I agree... it sounds like you are really unhappy. You should change your life and start making it YOUR life.

Getting financial independence is a very good first step. Get a job.

Having your own car is another step to independence. Keep the car.

Get a job that will support a decent lifestyle. It's time to be an adult now,and live your own life.

I only moved out at age 26. Were staying with my parents. Also did 3d animation etc. They were on my case about it. So I decided to move out to do my own thing. Much like your story my parents did not want me to move out.

But now that I am out and they got use to it our relationship has been stronger. Hope the same will apply to you.

Parents are sometimes scared to see their kids go, but dude your 30 and its time. We all move at our own pace. Keep in mind the car is what will get you around.

    Ever heard the lyrics I isn't got a girl cause I isn't got a car; I isn't got a car cause I isn't got a job, I isn't got a job cause isn't got a car? Or something like that.

    Peace.

I meant to say: "Can't argue with that", but I pushed enter too quickly.

It's definitely time to move out so that you can control your own life and control your own finances.

Find a job that gives you financial stability. Get rid of the car if you can't afford it. Find a second job if you need additional funds.

Get a full-time job in your field. Start shopping for an apartment that is within your means. Start budgeting based on your take-home pay (Excel is good for this).

You've already asked this question before, and from some other questions you've asked, you seem to be a quiet sort of guy that has difficulty being assertive.

Your question is a no brainer really - of course you have to get out from under your parents' roof, stop being a slave and lead your own life!

It's just a matter of making that choice. Don't keep asking - just do it. What's the worse thing that can happen?

It's a choice, and you almost seem to know what to do. As someone said earlier - looking for a job in the field you love, and getting an apartment within your means can be your first steps. And keep trying until you find a way out, and not stop at the first hurdle you run into. My very best.

I am in total agreeance with the posters above who mentioned that you need your independence. Your relationship with your parents is unhealthy, and it's time you move out into the real world. You seem to recognize this so that's very good.

And of course being independent, moving out and taking over business can both happen if you want that also.

It is a issue that you have to decide what you want and then do it
