You're wrong, it's not "military men no good", it's "that man is no good". No sense in generalizing about a whole group based on one person.

Um.. I dislike the assumption that military men are no good. People in general can be no good. If I took that approach after my last crash and burn she cheated on me relationship id have said beautiful italian women are no good. Then I married another one.

Mental stress causes us to do dumb things. He's not treating you right. Time to back off. His emotions are all over the place... and I see some validity in that... not how he treated you... but I've been there. After a devastating event I led a girl on (didnt sleep with) unintentionally... I really liked her, but I couldn't commit at all. So I yo-yo'd back and forth between seeing her and ignoring her. She deserved better. I didn't mean to treat her badly, but I did.

    You need to step back.

I like both answers so far. Never generalize a group because of 1 person. The same for race, religion, sex, and any other way of discriminating. Now back to the topic. I bet, he wanted to be with you, but after he was, he realized he didn't want to be with you for whatever he reason maybe. Can't you just ask him why? Talk with him and figure things out. Also, is he even worth being with. That type of behaviour is very questionable in my book

I was married to a military man who served in N Ireland during the troubles there in the 70s. Twenty years married to him, he did twenty-two years in the parachute regiment, divorced 91, still friends, shot in 76 and almost blown up in 79. Military men the world over keep us safe. Just something to think about.

I think you are hurting very much but that was caused by your relationship with one man, military or not. And if he is going to Iraq, I would say a prayer for him if I were you.
