What if my adult daughter doesn't come home from a date
My 24 year old daughter, who still lives with me, hase been dating this guy she met at work. She has been dating him for a couple of months and we've met ( he seems nice). She went out with him last night and its past three the next day. I've tried to call her cell phone but I get her voice mail. She did tell me earlier that it was "dying." It's not like her to stay out all night. What should I do!

She's been dating him for a couple months, has she ever spent the night at his house?

Could she have spent the night with him, got up, and went to work today? Maybe her phone did die. I can understand why you'd feel a little apprehensive... but, on the other hand, I can see where you'd feel guilty for feeling apprehensive because she IS an adult and was out with her boyfriend.

Have you tried her work phone?

Let her be a big girl.. if you do not here from her tomorrow, or if she does not show up to work with out calling in or something like that then you worry, call the police, but just do not get all upset about her not calling you.. when she told you her phone was"dying" that was code for" I do not wont to be bothered" I know it's hard to let them go no matter how old the are, I have 3 grown kid's my baby is a girl and she is 18.. just put it in god's hand's.. that's what I do when day's go by and I don't here a word.. if you don't believe in god... then all I can say is... you know how us woman are.. when we have a new man we have a new toy.

I would call her friends and call work as well.

In the future she needs to understand that no matter what age she is ,it is common courtesy to let you know she is O.K.It only takes a second to make a call.

We don't stop being parents when our children reach a certain age.
She is old enough to appreciate that and should know better.

Do you know his name, or his phone number ?

I agree most likely just staying with him and forgot about everything else.

I would just wait a little longer

We all see thing's different. You do not have to agree with me, and no one else does either, just what 'I' would do, if that was my daughter, and I do think it was rude not to call her mom, but come on people just how many times have you forgot to call home when you were 24, I worry about my kid's all the time, I use to call my daughter 3-4 times a day after school let out and she was home, when she had a date I would call and text her to death, in the end she did not talk to me for a long time, I had to let her go, so she could come back to me on her own, all I'm saying is don't push her out the door
