    Pex
Is it too good to be true that PEX tubing can withstand freezing temps without breaking? Avg winter temp anywhere from 0F to 32F? Long story short, I work for a church and one of our members is a low income elderly woman. She lost her heater last winter and cannot afford to replace it so she has been using space heaters where she can. She has several pipes that run through a crawlspace that keep breaking due to freezing (they are PVC). I have a friend who is a contractor that is donating PEX tubing & parts and willing to install for her. The issue is that with PVC I can do the replacement of broken sections whereas PEX line I will need him to come out and fix. I want to make sure that they really can withstand the freezing or if there is a good chance they are still going to break at the same rate as the PVC.

    Any advice would be appreciated!
