Can douching affect getting pregnant

Typically douching should not affect getting pregnant. Douching is not recommended by doctors any longer. Physicians now recommend that women do not douche at all unless prescribed by your doctor.

It removes what is called "normal flora" (normal, natural protective bacteria) that is present in the vaginal canal. When this bacteria is removed it sets us women up for more infections. Therefore, doctors no longer recommend douching.
