    New mb
    I want to replace my mb (upgrade) but I want to keep everything else like cd rom
    Power supply,memory chips,dvd r
    Formatting the hdd is the only way to do it or new mb will take my hdd fully loaded
    I just want to replace my mb any ideas thanks

    You don't need to format your hard drive when replacing the motherboard.

    You do, though, need to make sure that the new motherboard will take the same type of ram you've got now.

    When you go to where you'll purchase the MB, I would take with you a list of the components that you currently have in your computer - so that the salesperson can help you pick the right one.
