    MOT certificate
I took my car in for its MOT today and it failed :(

They can fix it, but not until the 4th of January

But my old MOT certificate doesn't run out till the 2nd of January

    So my question is:

Will I still be able to drive my car up until the MOT runs out or did the new MOT test cancel it out?

Hi albear, you can drive your car until the old cert runs out. Then you have to walk or ride a bike. I hope you don't live somewhere with a lot of hills.

    Happy New Year !

    Thanks Tickle,

I wasn't sure and when I asked the mechanic he didn't make it very clear,

He just said I was covered to drive it away and covered to drive it back to the garage, but I don't think he knew I still had a few more days left on my old certificate.
